Lisa's Shaped Card Tutorial

Lots of us make square or rectangle cards because they are easy, but I'm here to show you that making an oval or star shaped card is not as hard as it may seem.

I started off by cutting out the oval front using an oval cutter.  The one I used was the Curvy Cutter.  Once I had the card front, I added patterned papers and then started the card base.

Now I lay the card front onto a piece of cardstock to create the base.  Make sure that the cardstock has been scored.  When taping the card front to the cardstock, be sure that you let the oval shape overhand the scored line on the cardstock.

The next picture shows what it looks like when you have folded the card base with the oval overhanging.

Now cut off your excess cardstock flush with your oval card front or you can leave a small border. The picture shows the backing of the card.

Now have fun creating your own shaped card!
