Embellishments

Hello Cropstop friends. Today I have a different kind of post for you - a post on creating embellishments. I don't know about you, but I'm not always "in the mood" to create a full fledged project. That was the case a few days ago when I pulled out my That's The Ticket Dies (Spellbinders) and set to work creating some fun little embellishments to use on future projects.
(Note: The dies I used are currently "out of stock," but Cropstop does have Sideshow Ticket dies by Memory Box.)

For this first set I:

• die cut a ticket from cream card stock using the That's The Ticket Dies (Spellbinders)
• stamped text from Curious Possibility (Tim Hotlz) in Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide
• inked all the edges using sponge daubers and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide
• stamped floral design from Flights of Fancy (Tim Hotlz) in Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide
• stamped sentiment from Bird Crazy (Tim Hotlz) in Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide
• stamped butterfly from Flights of Fancy (Tim Hotlz) in Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide
• cut out the butterfly and glued it to the left side of my ticket

 For the second set I:

• die cut a ticket from cream card stock using the That's The Ticket Dies (Spellbinders) 
• inked all the edges and the ticket using sponge daubers in Peeled Paint Distress Oxide
• stamped the grid design from Bitty Grunge (Tim Hotlz) in Walnut Stain Distress
• stamped the postmark from French Market (Tim Hotlz) in Tuxedo Black Ink (Tsukineko)
• stamped the hand and sentiment from Special Delivery (Tim Hotlz) in Walnut Stain Distress Oxide
• cut out the above and glued them to the left side of the ticket

For the third set of tickets I:

• die cut a ticket from cream card stock using the That's The Ticket Dies (Spellbinders) 
• stamped ticket from The Journey (Tim Hotlz) in Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide
• inked all the edges and the ticket using sponge daubers in Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide
• stamped the compass from Air Travel (Tim Hotlz) in Tuxedo Black Ink (Tsukineko)
• stamped the sentiment from The Journey (Tim Hotlz) in Fired Brick Distress Oxide

For the last set I:

• die cut a ticket from cream card stock using the That's The Ticket Dies (Spellbinders) 
• inked the ticket with Faded Jeans Distress Oxide 
• stamped the diamond background from French Market (Tim Hotlz) in Tuxedo Black Ink (Tsukineko)
• stamped the numbers from Here and There (Tim Hotlz) in Tuxedo Black Ink (Tsukineko)
• stamped the man from Curious Possibility (Tim Hotlz) in Peeled Paint Distress Oxide
• cut out and glued to the right side of the ticket
• stamped the  sentiment from Here and There (Tim Hotlz) in Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide
• cut out and glued to the left side of the ticket 

Here's a sneak peak of the cards I later created from these fun tickets -- lots of stamp layering using Tim Hotlz stamp sets and Distress Oxides! I'll share the finished cards on the next two Mondays, so come back then.

Crayon Resist

Welcome back to the Cropstop blog! After experiencing quite a few problems on our other blog platform (culminating in being locked out completely!) we've decided to move back to Blogspot and resume were we left off.
Monday we will resume our monthly link party and this Friday we will resume our guest designer posts! 

Today I'm sharing a spring themed card with you. Here's how I put my bright and cheery card together:

• I started by embossing a piece of white card stock with the Christmas Quilt Embossing Folder (Couture Creations)
• While the card stock was still in the folder, I rubbed over the raised part with a pink crayon (Note: keeping the card stock in the embossing folder provides stability and keeps the design from being crushed)
• After it was covered to my liking, I removed it from the folder and covered it in Wilted Violet Distress Stain (Tim Holtz) and heat set it with my embossing gun

• I matted my top layer on pink card stock and tied a natural colored burlap string bow around it before adhering it to my card front with my ATG gun
• Next I die cut the largest cage from the Open Studio Gilded Birds set (Memory Box) and glued that to the left side of the card
• After coloring some pretty (Graciellie) flowers I added tiny white pearls to the centers 
• The large butterfly comes from the Anna Griffin die set, Butterfly Trio and is die cut from core'dinations card stock and colored with Seedless Preserves Distress Stain (Tim Holtz)
•  Inside I added an image from the All Things Are Possible stamp set (Heartfelt Creations) stamped in Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide and lightly shaded with Prismacolor pencils

Chatter about cuttlebug - Fun with Fabric

We have already used mulberry paper, metal, foil, chipboard, and grungeboard in our embossing folders. Today, let's try some fabric! Check out this and other tutorials using your cuttlebug products in the "Chatter about Cuttlebug" section of the Cropstop's Forum!

We are going in circles this week!

Our Challenge #29 is all about circles thanks to Mel!

Circles come in various sizes and elements... you can cut your CS or PP into circles, or your photos... then there's buttons, brads, eyelets, flowers... the possibilities are ENDLESS... just like a circle!

Soooo... your challenge this week... if you choose to accept it... is to use at least TWO DIFFERENT ELEMENT CIRCLES in your LO or project!!
