Follow Up Friday!

Vicki here...today I'm sharing a card created using the Cuttlebug 5 x 7  Embossing Folder with Border-Chicken Wire, Ranger Distress Ink, a brayer and some die-cut embellishments.

"There is a calmness to life lived in gratitude, a quiet joy.
-Ralph H. Blum

Make your card base in 5 x 7 size and set aside.  To create the background for the card, I first embossed white cardstock with the Chicken Wire Folder.

Next, I inked my brayer with Ranger Black Soot Distress Ink.

I lightly rolled the inked brayer over the embossed cardstock.  The embossed areas picked up the ink color while the debossed area did not.

The added embellishments were made using  the Memory Box Graceful Silhouette and Woodland Branch* die-cuts.  The branches and flower are highlighted with Icicle Stickles.

I used my Spellbinder Hexagon die-cut to mimic the design of the chicken wire and added two windows, one with patterned paper and the other with a stamped image.  The frame of the windows are popped up for dimension over the background windows.  The stamped quote was matted using additional die-cut banners that are cut to fit.
