Monday Morning...Prima Doll Stamp Tags

It's our first Monday Morning post here on the CropStop Blog and I can't wait to share the tags I created using Julie Nutting's Doll Stamps from Prima!

I love the whisical design of the stamps and the fact that they are paper doll size.  The doll stamped images range in size from 7.25 up to 7.75 inches in height.  Finding a stamping block this large proved to be a challenge and I opted for an acrylic plate from my Big Kick.  I bought a new set specifically for this purpose and they are perfect!

I am participating in a "tag in a bag" swap that is being hosted by a friend of mine on a scrapbook site.  We needed to create 3 altered tags with matching altered bags in a butterfly theme.  The Prima Doll Stamps and matching Mixed Media Doll Tags were a great choice for the vintage tags I created!

The top photo shows the tags in the bags and the bottom photo is of the tags sans the bags.

Below, I will show each tag individually and the steps involved in creating them.

This is the "Swing" Dress Doll and my most favorite of the stamps.  The base is the Prima MM Doll Tag with Prima Papers as trim.  I used Liquitex Glass Bead GelCrafter's Workshop Tiny Circles Template and Ranger Tattered Rose Distress Stain for the background on the tag. The doll was stamped twice, once on patterned paper and again on ivory cardstock.  I cut out both images and colored the ivory doll with skin tone Copic Markers.  The dress from the patterned paper image was added over the doll image. The bodice and hemline of the dress have Tattered Rose Dry Fine Glitter for sparkle.  The edges of the tag are inked with Clearsnap Black Lava Chalk Ink.  Icicle Stickles, Dew Drops and a Prima Butterfly are the finishing details along with Creative Impressions Ribbon for the tie.

Here is the tag and matching bag.  I found the mini black bags at Michael's and die cut butterflies in them with Spellbinder Butterfly Die-cuts.  Then I lined the bag with transparency to create a window in the bag.  I embellished the bag with jewel flourishes, flowers and Dew Drops.

The second tag was created in a similar way with the Strapless Dress Stamp and different embellishments which include a flower, gems, glitter, and leaves made using Martha Stewart Silicon Mold-Flower Garden and Martha Stewart Air Dry Clay.  I had to use this butterfly ribbon for the tie!

Another matching bag with a different butterfly window.

The third and final tag features the Bolero Sweater Stamp.  I used glass bead gel and the Crafter's Workshop Mini Climbing Vine Template for the background.  The mini butterflies were made using air dry clay and the Mod Podge Nature Mold.  The flowers are also air dry clay using the Martha Stewart Flower Garden mold and then covered with Tattered Rose Dry Glitter.

The final matching bag.
