Come softly

Since Valentines day is coming up I thought it was time for some hearts!

I have used Cuttlekids heart die and QK's Stamp Cancellation on foam and some strange mesh-like material that I have glued together. I have also used a heart in the stamp cancellation, which might be hard to see because of the material. The background is Bazzill Smoothies that I have run through my wonderful Ellison with CB's embossing folder TextileTexture and them added some distress ink in the colors Antique Linen and Vintage Photo.
The motif is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and painted with copics.

Some closeups

Copics that I have used:
Face - E00, E02, E37, E29, RV21, RV23, G20. G94, G99
Hair - E00, E02, E37, E29
Butterfly - G20, G94, RV21, E29
Background - RV21, RV23, RV 29

Friday Embossing - 1/22/10

Today, I am coming to you from a water-logged southern California! I know we all want spring, even those of us in the land of "always summer," so here is a spring time card for you!

I used the Cuttlebug Allegro embossing folder and the Cuttlebug Butterfly Cut & Emboss set (this set sold out in the store at the moment). I gently sanded the embossing to make it stand-out.

Cardstock and designer paper - Close to My Heart
Ink - Stampin' Up
Stamp - Close to My Heart
Tools - Big Shot, sanding block, tag punch

Come join the fun with our Domino Challenge

Tim Holtz's alcohol inks and dominos, just add some rubberstamps and a few embellishments and look what you have!! I love the look of alcohol ink and dominos. The first domino (time) is actually painted on with a paintbrush. The other two I used Tim's alcohol ink sponge dauber. The domino in the center is using two colors while the domino on the left is one color but I picked up some of the color using Tim's blending solution.
Now the fun part.... grab your favorite domino size stamps and have fun. Use Staz On inks as they work best. No smearing and fast drying.

Have fun and let's see yours.
Veronica

Tuesday die cut - Caged butterfly

Another Tuesday, another project.
This time I have been making a birdcage, but it looked so boring and I thought it needed something in it. Since it was so close to Tuesday I thought I could use a die, so I chose Cuttlebugs Cut & Emboss Butterfly.

The butterfly has been misted with Vintage Pink and Copper, the roses got a few sprays to get some glimmer and some dots of 3D glaze. The edges on the butterfly got some Distress Stickles "Tattered Rose" to hide it since I have glues 2 cuts together.

The material list is following:
Wire
Cuttlebug Cut&Emboss Butterfly die
Pearls
Roses
Rose leaves
Distress stickles - Tattered Rose
Mists - Vintage Pink, Copper

I have linked to the products I have used, or similar ones, more likely only a different name.

Friday Embossing - 1/15/10

If you loved that tree embossing folder from yesterday, you are gonna love this project! I decided to use the January sketch as my inspiration for the Friday Embossing project. Check out this tree action!

I have this BEAUTIFUL Inkadinkado tree stamp, and decided to put it to the ink for the first time! Yummy! I embossed with the Cuttlebug Diamond Plate EF.

Tuesday die cut

I passed the line of "what's me" this time by using lilac paper and a stamped motif. But it turned out great, even if my camera didn't like it.

I have used Cuttlebugs "harlequin" die, other products used are listed below.

Other products:
Different texture stamps
Punchinella (dotted pattern)
Bling strips
Glimmer mist "Cranberry" (ball decorations) and "Pearl"
Distress inks "Broken China", Weathered wood", "Dusty concord" and "Shabby Shutters"
Distress stickles "Antique linen"
3D glaze

The harlequins have been colored with "Broken China" and "Shabby shutters" to get a blue/green color that matches the image. Then stamped with some stamps randomly, made dots with punchinella and "Dusty Concord" and finished them with a spray of glimmer mist "Pearl" and some distress stickles.
The ball decorations which also comes from the Cuttlebug die is misted with "Cranberry" and filled with stickles and 3D glaze.

Hope this will make you want to use those old dies that you have forgotten in a box somewhere.!

Winter Woodland New Year's Card

I finally opened my Winter Woodlands Cricut Cartridge and I must say I AM IN LOVE AGAIN! I still don't quite get a few things, but I am thinking the more I use it the more I will get used to it. I wanted to make a card for our SWAP @ CropStop. (BTW. We have openings for the Valentine Swap... I'll make a post just about this tonight.)

Supplies: Winter Woodland Cricut Cartridge; MM double sided paper; Cuttlebug Embossing Folders; American Crafts Brad; SNS ribbon scrap

Here is what I came up with

Friday Embossing 1/8

Happy Friday, CropStop Bloggers! It's that time again...time for the Friday Embossing project at the CropStop Message Board! This card is all about the layers!

I also used the SASSC46 sketch challenge because it reminded me of an ATC - and Veronica does a fabbie ATC Challenge every week also. Only my project is an A2 size card instead of an ATC. I rounded the corners of the card and all the paper. I embossed the green cardstock with the Cuttlebug Victoria folder. The orange file folder die cut is a Sizzix die, but I added a larger tab by punching some orange paper with the SU tab punch.

The printed paper is Cosmo Cricket Earth Love (from the CropStop store).

Other details:
Flower: Heidi Swapp
Flower brad: K&Company
Pearls: Recollections (but CS carries Basic Grey ones instead)
Stamps: Autumn Leaves

Hope you come visit the CS Message Borad and play along!

Weekly Challenge #1 for 2010 - "Journal It Is"!

Do you journal? I have always wanted to have my own journal to write down my thoughts and memories. So, about 5 years ago, I bought this beautiful leather journal with my favorite, "Fleur de Lis" on the front of it. I started off writing in it regularly, but alas, the past 2 or 3 years, there are few entries! My intentions were good!

So, I am declaring 2010, the year to get my journaling back "on track" and my challenge to you is..."Tell Your Life Story". Create a layout about your journal, alter a notebook and make your own journal, or try making a "Journal Jar" that you can add little notes to from time to time. Whatever you choose, just show us!

Stop by and join the Cropstop Gallery so you can post your challenge and show us how you journal, your life story!

January ATC Challenge

Come join the fun this month. ATC's made with postage stamps? SURE and it is so much fun. You can find some really great postage stamps out there now. I received this one from Haylie Jo. She had received it from a customer from across the pond. Awesome stamps over there.
Just take your ATC and somewhere on the ATC use a postage stamp. Here I stamped a female image and used the stamp for her head.
Let's see your ATC's. Post a comment with your blog address so we can come see.
Enjoy,
And remember life comes in little pieces of art...... atc sized of course!
