Follow-Up Friday, "Fresh and Fun" with Couture Creations

Vicki here with some more "Spring" inspiration!

This week I want to share a card that I made using one of the new embossing folders from Couture Creations "Fresh and Fun" Limited Edition Collection. I have the entire collection and it was a difficult choice which one to use!   My selection, "Fudge" was perfect for what I had in mind.

The design on these multi purpose embossing folders allows you to emboss right to the edge of your card and/or produce long embossed strips for layouts and off the page projects.  The strip-slot is located in the center top of the embossing folders. They come in both A2 and 5 x 7 sizes and can be purchased individually or as a complete set of 10.

There's nothing better than "spring green and pink" for a spring inspired card.  Seems Lisa and I had the same thought when creating our projects.  I also added these cute pink flowers that I created from Washi tape.  This is a technique passed on to me by a friend.   Below, I have added a step by step for creating your own Washi tape flowers.

Supplies: Washi tape, glitter, and tool for starting the flower.

Step 1  Tear of a piece of Washi tape approximately 10" to 12" in length.  This will give you a flower that is about 3/4" to 1" in diameter.

Step 2  Twirl the tape randomly leaving some of the sticky side out when twisting.

Step 3  Twist the entire length of the tape.

Step 4 To start the center of the flower, wrap the end of the tape around an embossing tool or similar item and pinch together.

Step 5  Now you can remove it from the end of the tool and continue rolling into a circle around the center.

Step 6  This is what it will look like when you are finished.  Tuck the end under the flower and glue in place.

Step 7  Place the top side of the flower into the glitter.  The sticky areas will pick up the glitter.

This is the finished flower.  How cool is this?  They are so easy to make and I love the end result!

They match the embossed background perfectly!    The detailed impression from the Couture Creations embossing folder is really enhanced by the flowers.

I added some Memory Box Lorelai Outline Leaf die-cuts and saved a few of the negative pieces to scatter around on the card.  The sentiment is stamped with Tsukineko Memento Black Tuxedo ink on a Spellbinders Classic Rectangle-Large Nestabilities die-cut.  It's matted using Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Rectangles Nestabilities.  Pink flowers covered in Ranger Distress Stickles Dry Glitter-Rock Candy and a pink bow made from May Arts Sheer Satin Band ribbon and the card is complete.
