Michelle Pearson here today for CropStop sharing a fun background technique using Couture Creations' Fine Designs Collection's Passion embossing folder. Here are five cards created using the same embossing folder and different color variations.
This embossing folder comes in the 5x7 size, so when used to make an A2 sized card you will have wonderful pieces leftover to use as card embellishments!
For the first card posted here, I created inchies with the scraps and made a fun collage card!
Below are the steps I took to create these backgrounds:
Supplies you will need for this project:
Inkssentials
Mini-Mister filled with water
White Gel Pen
Prima Flowers
Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous - CMS155 Simple Sayings
1. Open the embossing folder and rub ink onto the inside of the printed half of the embossing folder as shown.
2. Next, using a Tsukineko Sponge Dauber I removed ink from the flower portions of the embossing folder.
3. Then, using a Distress Marker, color the flowers onto the flower portions as desired.
4. Finally, spritz the inked portion of the embossing folder lightly with water. Place your 5 x 7 inch piece of white cardstock into the folder and emboss.
One thing to remember is that each piece you make will come out differently. This is a water colored effect, and that is the beauty of it. You will notice some inks bubble up a bit more, I tend to go for the lighter shades for the effects I achieved here.
